Anthropic retires standalone Claude Design on 14 December
The dedicated claude.ai/design site is folding into the main Claude interface. Team design systems need manual migration before chats and comments in the old version are deleted.
Anthropic has set a closure date of 14 December 2026 for the standalone Claude Design site at claude.ai/design. Design already lives inside every regular Claude conversation, and Anthropic is folding the separate site into the main product rather than maintaining both.
After the site closes, chats with Claude and comments on projects and design systems in the standalone version are deleted under Anthropic’s data retention practices, and public links to standalone projects stop working. Organisations have to act before then: opening the Artifacts page in Claude and clicking “Migrate team design systems” moves every design system in the org across in one go, including systems other people created, so it only needs running once.
Artifacts page → "Migrate team design systems" → confirm
Why it matters: if your team has been using claude.ai/design directly rather than Design inside a normal Claude chat, nothing carries over automatically. Anyone with chats, comments or shared links tied to the standalone site needs to save what they need and run the migration before 14 December, or it’s gone.
The caveat: the migration moves design systems, not conversation history. Anthropic’s own guidance is to save anything you need from chats and comments separately before the deadline.
