Claude can now build live dashboards and explainer videos
Two new Claude tools launched in beta: Dashboards wires up live charts against your warehouse, Motion turns a prompt into an animated video you export as MP4.
Anthropic launched two new Claude tools in beta on 8 October: Dashboards, which builds live charts from a data platform, and Motion, which turns a text prompt into an animated explainer video.
Dashboards connects to Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks or Snowflake, plus connectors such as Salesforce. Ask a question in plain language and Claude builds a dashboard that keeps refreshing, shows a timestamp on each chart, and can explain the SQL behind any of them on request. It’s in beta on every paid plan. Motion writes code that animates text, shapes and charts into something that plays like a short video, and exports as an MP4. It’s limited to Team and Enterprise for now. Docs, Slides and Design, previously in beta, are out of beta on every plan including Free.
"Build a dashboard of this month's Salesforce pipeline by region"
Why it matters: if you’d normally reach for a BI tool against your warehouse, or hand a motion-graphics brief to someone else, both now happen from inside a chat, with the SQL and the animation code visible rather than hidden behind a rendered output.
The caveat: this is beta with no published pricing or usage limits yet, and several promised export targets, including Looker, Tableau and monday.com, are listed as “coming soon” rather than live.
