Claude Max and Team plans now include monthly API credits

Anthropic is folding a monthly dollar allowance for the Claude API into Max and Team subscriptions, though it pointedly excludes Claude Code itself.

Anthropic is adding a monthly dollar credit for the Claude Platform API to Max and Team subscriptions. Max 5x gets $100 a month, Max 20x gets $200. Team plans get $20 per Standard seat and $100 per Premium seat, pooled across the organisation and capped at $500 a month.

The credit covers the Messages and Message Batches APIs, the Console Playground, Claude Managed Agents and the Agent SDK, on any model available on the platform, including Haiku 5.5. It does not cover interactive Claude Code in the terminal, IDE, desktop or web, extra usage beyond plan limits in Claude or Claude Code, or Claude accessed through Bedrock, Vertex AI or Microsoft Foundry. Unused credit expires at the end of each billing cycle rather than rolling over, and an account needs seven days on an eligible plan before it can claim the allowance.

Why it matters: if you already pay for Max or Team to use Claude Code or Claude.ai, you now get a standing API budget on top of that subscription, useful for scripts, internal tools or Agent SDK projects without opening a separate billing relationship. The carve-out for interactive Claude Code suggests Anthropic is keeping that usage metered separately rather than folding it into the same pool.
