Cloudflare lets you fire Cron Triggers locally without faking a request

A new Local Explorer panel in Wrangler dev and the Vite plugin invokes a Worker scheduled() handler on demand, with a REST API for scripts and agents too.

Source: Cloudflare

Cloudflare shipped Local Explorer support for Cron Triggers on 17 October. Start a Worker with cf dev, wrangler dev or the Cloudflare Vite plugin, open /cdn-cgi/local/explorer in the browser, and you can invoke the scheduled() handler on demand instead of hand-building a request to simulate one.

The panel runs pre-configured cron expressions, lets you type a custom ad hoc expression, and saves presets for reuse. Local development never runs your cron schedule automatically, so this is the only way to exercise it without deploying. Explorer also exposes a plain REST endpoint, POST /cdn-cgi/local/explorer/api/local/scheduled?worker=WORKER_NAME, taking a cron expression and an optional scheduled_time, so scripts and agents can trigger the same thing without a browser. Ad hoc triggers and presets stay in the browser and never touch your config files or deployed triggers.

Why it matters: testing a Cron Trigger locally used to mean faking the request shape yourself or just deploying and waiting for the schedule to fire. This gives Workers developers a direct way to invoke scheduled() on demand, with full logs and traces when Observability is on.
