Cloudflare R2 bandwidth metrics now split out by location
A new dashboard view shows which Cloudflare location served the most read and write traffic for an R2 bucket, instead of just a single global total.
Cloudflare added a new view to the R2 section of its dashboard on 9 October that breaks bandwidth down by the Cloudflare location serving each request, rather than showing only a single global figure.
By default it shows the top five locations by total bandwidth over the selected time range, with a dropdown to swap in others and track up to six at once. You can filter to a specific bucket and split the numbers by read versus write traffic.
Why it matters: if an R2 bucket’s bandwidth bill or latency looks off, this is the first place to look before guessing. You can now see whether traffic is concentrated in one region, which matters for diagnosing a slow upload path or an unexpectedly large egress charge, without reaching for raw logs.
