Cloudflare's legacy Workers KV API routes stop working today
REST calls to the old /workers/namespaces/ path return errors from today. The fix is a one-line URL swap, but it has to happen before you read this.
Cloudflare’s legacy Workers KV API routes reach end of life today. Any REST call to /accounts/{account_id}/workers/namespaces/* for listing, creating, deleting or reading and writing KV namespaces stops working from 15 October 2026.
The deprecation was announced back on 15 July, giving three months’ notice. The fix is a straight path swap:
# before
/accounts/{account_id}/workers/namespaces/*
# after
/accounts/{account_id}/storage/kv/namespaces/*
Cloudflare says the two routes are interchangeable: same request parameters, same response payloads. This only affects the account-level REST API used to manage namespaces directly. If you only touch KV from inside a Worker via the env.KV binding, you were never on the old routes and nothing changes for you.
Why it matters: if your CI, a deploy script or an internal tool still calls the old path, it will start failing today, not with a warning but with a dead endpoint. This is the kind of break that looks like an outage until someone checks the changelog.
The caveat: three months is a reasonable notice window, but if the call is buried in a script nobody has touched since July, it is easy to have missed.
