Google stops selling Gemini Code Assist subscriptions

New Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions can no longer be bought from 9 October. Existing ones auto-renew through 2026 but not into 2027.

Google has stopped selling Gemini Code Assist. Its release notes say that, starting 9 October 2026, new Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions can no longer be purchased.

Anyone already on one keeps it for now: existing subscriptions will continue to auto-renew through the rest of 2026, but that auto-renewal stops in 2027. Google’s own notes point customers towards Antigravity instead, which it says is available through eligible Gemini Enterprise subscriptions and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Teams that still want a Code Assist subscription bundled in are told to contact Google Cloud sales directly rather than buy online.

Why it matters: if your team pays for Code Assist Standard or Enterprise, you have until some point in 2027 before the subscription stops renewing, and no self-serve way to buy a fresh one in the meantime. Google is folding its paid coding-assistant business into Gemini Enterprise and Antigravity rather than keeping Code Assist as a standalone product, which is the clearer signal here than the subscription mechanics.

The caveat: the release notes only cover the paid Standard and Enterprise tiers. They say nothing about the free, individual version of Code Assist, so that appears unaffected.
