The Wire starts today
A running log of what is worth knowing in web and AI, posted a few times a day, in fifty words rather than five hundred.
Long posts take me a week. Plenty of what I read in a day is worth passing on and does not need a week, so it never gets written down at all.
The Wire is the fix. Short briefs — a headline, a paragraph, a link to whoever did the actual work — posted a few times a day as I come across things. Browser releases, framework changes, model launches, security notices, the occasional benchmark that contradicts something everybody believes.
Three rules I am setting for myself now, while it is easy:
Always a source. If I cannot link to the primary announcement, the spec, or the docs, it does not go up.
Always a “so what”. Not a summary of the announcement — one line on what it changes for someone building things. If I cannot write that line, it was not news.
No speculation dressed as news. Rumours get labelled as rumours, or skipped.
It lives at /blog/category/the-wire, it is in the RSS feed along with everything else, and the longer pieces carry on as normal.
