Node.js 24.22.0 LTS adds built-in throttle and debounce
The Krypton LTS line ships util.throttle and util.debounce as native utilities, plus PKCS12 parsing and SQLite statement disposal.
Node.js 24.22.0, the “Krypton” LTS line, shipped on 14 October with util.throttle() and util.debounce() as built-in functions, alongside util.markPromiseAsHandled() for silencing unhandled rejection warnings on promises you’re deliberately not awaiting.
The crypto module gains crypto.parsePKCS12() for reading PKCS12 files, a generic MAC API, and automatic discovery of ciphers and hashes from OpenSSL providers. The sqlite module adds StatementSync.prototype.close() and Symbol.dispose support so statements can be cleaned up explicitly or disposed automatically. Server.prototype._listen2 in node:net is now deprecated.
import { throttle, debounce } from 'node:util'
Why it matters: throttle and debounce are two of the most common reasons a project pulls in lodash or hand-rolls its own version. Having them in node:util removes that dependency, and because this lands in an LTS release rather than Current, it reaches the Node line most production deployments actually run.
