Node.js 26 becomes an LTS release, supported through April 2029
Version 26.13.0 carries no new code, just the metadata flip into Long Term Support under the codename Lithium. That date is the one to put in a migration calendar.
Node.js 26 entered Long Term Support on 28 October, shipped as version 26.13.0 under the codename “Lithium”. The release notes are explicit that this build carries no functional changes over 26.12.1, only the metadata update (including process.release) that marks the line as LTS. Support runs through the end of April 2029.
Anyone upgrading from Node 24, 22 or earlier should also note that official Linux binaries have linked against libatomic since Node 25, which on some distributions needs installing separately.
node -p "process.release"
# lts: 'Lithium' once you are on 26.13.0 or later
Why it matters: this is the point at which 26.x stops being “the new major” and becomes the version you can pin production to with a known support window. If you have been holding off moving off Node 24’s maintenance line, Lithium’s end-of-April-2029 date is the number to put against that migration.
