Vercel starts billing existing Pro teams for deployment storage
Deployment and Functions Storage now cost $0.10 per GB-month for every Pro team, and deployments older than 30 days get deleted from 23 October unless you opt out.
Vercel’s changelog confirms that Deployment Storage and Functions Storage billing now applies to every Pro team, not just new ones, at $0.10 per GB-month each. The retention window is also moving to 30 days: deployments older than that get deleted from 23 October, unless you opt out in your retention settings before then.
Teams already set to 30 days or shorter keep their current settings unchanged. Vercel’s companion note on new Pro teams points to coding agents as part of the reason: faster, more frequent deployments mean more stored history piling up, and more storage cost with it.
Why it matters: if your Vercel project has years of old preview and production deployments sitting around, this is the week to check your retention settings before the storage bill and the automatic deletion both land. Deleted deployments can’t be recovered or used for rollback, so it is worth deciding deliberately rather than letting the default run on 23 October.
The caveat: the changelog entry doesn’t give a typical GB figure for a project, so there is no way to estimate the likely bill size without checking your own team’s storage usage in the dashboard.
