Vercel MCP now shows deployments as interactive cards in ChatGPT
The first MCP App from Vercel's own MCP server renders live build status, logs and a Visit button directly inside ChatGPT and other MCP App clients.
Vercel MCP now renders deployments as an interactive card inside ChatGPT and other MCP App-compatible chat clients, rather than as plain text. It is the first MCP App built by Vercel’s own MCP server, using the MCP Apps extension.
The card shows live deployment status, build logs, and source and commit details, with a Visit button that appears once the deployment URL is ready. You can send logs straight into the chat to debug with the model, open a fullscreen view to read them in full, and switch between projects when a repository is linked to more than one. The underlying open_deployments tool looks deployments up by project, repository, or commit, with environment filtering. Clients that do not support MCP Apps still get the deployment state, preview URL and commit back as plain text.
Why it matters: if your team already talks to Vercel MCP from ChatGPT, this turns a one-off status check into something closer to a live dashboard, without leaving the chat. It is also a concrete example of what the MCP Apps extension is for: letting an MCP server hand back a real interactive UI instead of a wall of text.
