Google removes Claude models from Antigravity's free tier today
Free and Google AI Plus users lose Claude Sonnet 4.6, Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS-120b in Google Antigravity from 2 November. The newer Claude 5.5 models are paid-plan only.
Google’s model availability page for Antigravity, its agentic coding IDE, now footnotes Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS-120b with “will be removed on November 2, 2026.” Those three were the only reasoning models free and Google AI Plus accounts could pick.
The replacements, Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Claude Opus 5.5, are on the same page but marked unavailable to Free and Plus entirely. They’re listed only for Google AI Pro, and even there just for non-trial, paying subscriptions, plus Ultra and Enterprise. Free and Plus accounts aren’t getting a downgraded Claude, they’re losing Claude from Antigravity altogether.
Why it matters: if you’ve been using Antigravity’s free tier with Claude for agentic coding tasks, that stops today. Gemini models stay available to every plan, so the IDE itself still works, but reaching Claude now means a paid, non-trial Google AI Pro subscription or higher.
The caveat: Google’s own page doesn’t spell out whether the removal note applies to every plan the three models are listed against or just Free and Plus, so Pro’s loss of GPT-OSS-120b and the 4.6 models is implied by the table rather than stated outright.
