Node.js schedules a high-severity patch for 11 November

A fresh pre-release advisory covers all three supported lines, 22.x, 24.x and 26.x, with no CVE details public until release day.

Source: Node.js

Node.js published a new pre-release security announcement on 3 November for a fix due on or shortly after Wednesday 11 November. It covers all three currently supported lines: 22.x, 24.x and 26.x.

As with past pre-announcements, no CVE or bug description is public yet, just that the highest severity issue being fixed is rated HIGH across every affected line. Node points anyone chasing specifics to the nodejs-sec mailing list once the release ships, and repeats its standard warning that end-of-life versions never receive the fix.

Why it matters: this is the second such pre-announcement in three weeks, after the one that landed on 21 October. If you run Node in production, 11 November is worth a line in the calendar now, rather than waiting for a dependency scanner to flag it later.
